Sitecore Symposium 2016 has had an exciting start with a local New Orleans jazz band kicking off the event in style. Following this was the first keynote of the day from Michael Seifert (CEO, Sitecore), who re-enforced the importance of not only owning, but also shaping the customer experience.
As digital disruption continues to challenge businesses, the key enablement features of Sitecore including eCommerce, Detailed Data Analytics and Personalisation were all critical points of discussion during Michael’s keynote. In addition to technology enablement, Michael reiterated the importance of partnerships in the enablement of digital evolution and success.
Following Michael’s keynote, Jason Silva (Futurist & Film Maker) discussed a critical theme and demanded we step out of our limits and allow technology to take us on an exponential journey of growth. Jason explained how the evolution of what we can achieve with digital transformation has positive implications for businesses and consumers alike by creating experiences that delight and are contextual at the right place, at the right time.
Jason went on to say that there are three overlapping technological revolutions occurring - biotechnology, nanotechnology and artificial intelligence. With current smartphones providing more computing power than the President of the USA had access to only 25 years ago, it is little wonder these revolutions are converging and that we can all be enthralled with what’s next in technology.
This year Switch Managing Director Steven Nelson, Business Development Manager Nick Jones and Sitecore Commerce MVP Kelly Brennan are in attendance at Sitecore Symposium. Switch is proud to be at the forefront of the customer experience and Sitecore enablement. We will continue to blog key findings during Sitecore Symposium 2016.
